Faithful even in Crisis …
While much of the world watches headlines from the Middle East, the crisis in Sudan and South Sudan continues largely unseen. Ongoing violence, devastated infrastructure, and barely functioning basic services have left millions in desperate conditions. Earlier this year, United Nations agencies described these atrocities as “pointing to genocide.” Hunger, displacement, and instability remain daily realities.
In the middle of all this, our friend and global leader Yassene Koume continues to serve the Lord faithfully.
Yassene lives in South Sudan with his wife and children under very difficult conditions—limited clean water, scarce sanitation, and widespread poverty. Daily life is a constant challenge. Yet these realities have not slowed his commitment to the calling God has placed on his life.
He recently made the long and dangerous journey north into Sudan’s Nuba Mountain region, an area that has become a refuge for more than 700,000 displaced people fleeing violence and hunger. It is also a place where spiritual openness is growing among those who are weary and searching for hope.
Yassene goes there—not with resources alone, but with the Gospel.
Just this week, he shared the message of Christ with more than 30 young men. Thirteen of them gave their lives to Jesus. Please join us in praying that these new believers would be discipled and strengthened in their walk with Christ.
This is the fruit of Yassene’s faithfulness—his trust in God, his willingness to go, and his perseverance in the face of real danger.
ZEELO is grateful to come alongside Yassene through prayer, encouragement, and support when appropriate. Your support of ZEELO makes it possible to provide “exceptional care” to dozens of global leaders like Yassene across the globe.
