Sustainable ministry …
Melaku Meserate and his wife live in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Together they lead a ministry called Truth for All that reaches into some of the most remote parts of Ethiopia. They and their team work to train church-planting pastors and missionaries. Over the years, Melaku has proven to be a trusted friend and partner with ZEELO. One of the biggest they face in these remote areas is sustainable income streams for those who serve as indigenous missionaries and pastors. ZEELO has been fortunate to help Melaku in a number of ways. Specifically, we are able to provide “seed money” as capital for starting small businesses. This allows local missionaries and pastors to remain in their communities, earning a living while doing ministry. Solomon Kiros is one of those who we have help get started. He has been trained as a missionary by Truth for All. He’s now taking the gospel to northern Ethiopia. Solomon is 30 years old, married with two small children. He came to faith in Christ 10 years ago. Before becoming a missionary he worked as a professional electrician.and now serves as a missionary in the Tigray region of northern Ethiopia -- a region that has seen a lot of war, violence and displacement over the past few years. Less than 1% of the people in this area have heard the gospel. Solomon's skills as an electrician get him invited into people's home since such professional services are in short supply there now. At times, Solomon will go door-to-door in nearby neighborhoods asking, "Do you have anything in need of repair?" This is simply another way for him to enter people's lives and share his faith in Christ. Solomon says more than 20 people have come to faith in the Lord Jesus in the last few months. Thanks to you, ZEELO has been able to help Solomon with needed resources for his small business as he serves as a missionary to the unreached.
