Our Name
The name ZEELO is a blend of Greek and English words for Life, Zeal, and Logistics. The name is intentionally ambiguous, short, and memorable. The owl, more than a mascot, looks east towards the 10/40 window* and represents our core values of generosity, excellence, and innovation. Founded in 2020, our roots are directly connected to the advocacy work of the author Max E. Zimmermann who started the Immanuel Mission in Los Angeles during the Great Depression of the 1930s. Other influencing organizations include YFC, GMU/Avant, and Gideons International.
*The 10/40 Window is a term used by mission strategists since 1990 to refer to those regions of the world located between 10 and 40 degrees north of the equator mostly in the eastern hemisphere. Generally speaking, this area has the highest level of socioeconomic challenges and the lowest access to the gospel message on the planet.
